DoD Residential Subdivision Solar Energy Generation

Project Need

The Army Branch of the US Department of Defense (DOD) needed an environmental assessment for a 50-acre federal land in the Southeastern US, which will be utilized for constructing a solar power generating facility. The purpose of building this facility is to provide power to 1,000 homes for US military personnel and their families.

Services Completed

Lord and Winter collaborated with the client to examine the past and present environmental conditions before the solar array's installation. A site reconnaissance was conducted, and an ASTM 1527-21 compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessment report was generated.

Issue Resolved

The client received an on-time and on-budget environmental risk review of the property allowing the solar array to be installed.
