Biodiversity Measurement Guidance and Monitoring
Sustainability & Green Energy - TennesseeProject Need
Our client required a guidance document to train local facility staff to accurately monitor biodiversity at their locations throughout North America. In addition, a baseline biodiversity assessment was needed to provide measurable data for corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, aligned with global ESG metrics, listed in their strategic planning documents for each facility in North America.
Services Completed
Lord and Winter delivered two essential project components: a North American Biodiversity Monitoring Method Plan and a Baseline Biodiversity Monitoring Report. The monitoring method plan was specifically designed to guide and train local facility staff to monitor biodiversity accurately at specific facility locations, promoting local stakeholder participation and developing interest, expertise, and skills in making species observations. Our on-site biodiversity assessment included using GIS tagging to map structures and habitats, tallying species groups, and capturing identifying photographs using a customized app.
Issue Resolved
Lord and Winter successfully met the client's objectives by creating an easily adoptable biodiversity monitoring program for local facility staff to continue monitoring and reporting. Our comprehensive baseline data ensures that ESG biodiversity program metrics can be accurately measured for years to come.
