Project Need

A federal facilities client required environmental permitting support for the construction of a new entry control facility at a naval installation located within Louisiana’s designated Coastal Management Zone. Due to the project’s proximity to regulated aquatic resources, multiple federal and state authorizations were needed before development could proceed.

Services Completed

Lord & Winter prepared a joint Section 404 and Coastal Use permit application and coordinated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Louisiana Office of Coastal Management (OCM), and the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ). Support included a desktop endangered species review, a cultural resources review, mitigation planning using existing wetland data, and assistance with agency meetings, communication, and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
