Michigan Gravel Mine Aquisition

Environmental Compliance - Michigan
Grass Lake Gravel Mine

Project Need

An industrial property operator needed to renew a General Groundwater Discharge Permit and obtain a Certificate of Coverage (COC) to continue lawful discharge of groundwater under Michigan's environmental regulations. In the process of assuming ownership of the site, the permit renewal was necessary to maintain regulatory compliance and avoid operational disruptions.

Services Completed

The Lord and Winter Team managed the full permit renewal process, including application submittal, preparation of site documentation, coordination of Certifier Agreement, COC request, and all communications with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).

Issue Resolved

By ensuring continued compliance with Michigan's groundwater discharge regulations, Lord & Winter helped minimize regulatory risk, avoid potential operational delays, and allowed the property operator to focus on core business activities.
