Contaminated property located east of Baton Rouge near Lake Pontchartrain

Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment - Louisiana
Historically contaminated property near Lake Pontchartrain

Project Need

A local client required environmental due diligence services to potentially acquire a historically contaminated property located east of Baton Rouge near Lake Pontchartrain.

Services Completed

Lord and Winter completed a historical background search as a part of an ASTM 1527 compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. RECs found were related to a historic auto body shop and wrecker service with engine repair on the Subject Property. Lord and Winter completed a Limited Phase II Site Investigation where soil, groundwater, and soil vapor samples were tested for VOCs, SVOCs, RCRA Metals. The results of the Limited Phase II required the instillation of permanent flush mounted groundwater wells for further groundwater analysis. We oversaw the instillation of the wells, and conducted low flow sampling of groundwater, a method recognized by the US EPA as the highest quality method in the industry.

Issue Resolved

Lord and Winter provided the client information on exceedances detected in groundwater, and offered guidance for submitting the site to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Risk Evaluation / Corrective Action Program
